She died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Fred Miller. She was born November 14, 1827, in the old Sworts homestead, north of Dundee. She lived there until her marriage to Floyd Florence when they moved to Milo where they lived for forty years. About twenty years ago Mr. Florence died and she went to make her home with her daughter. Mrs. Florence was active in both mind and body until a few days before her death. On her ninety-sixth birthday she celebrated the day by a ride to her girlhood home and enjoyed going over again the scenes of her childhood. In the evening she was the guest of honor at a dinner party at which all of her children and their families living in this vicinity were present. She leaves one son, William Florence, of Dundee; three daughters, Mrs. Tasa Moon, of Branchport; Mrs. Fred Miller, of Dundee, and Mrs. Lydia Miller, of Detroit, Mich. Funeral services were held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Miller on Tuesday afternoon. Burial in Hillside cemetery, Dundee. -- Penn Yan Democrat, Friday, May 25, 1923 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mrs. Elizabeth Florance Mrs. Elizabeth Florance, one of the oldest residents in this town, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Miller, about three miles south of this village, Saturday, May 19th, 1923, at the advanced age of 96 years. Her maiden name was Miss Elizabeth Sworts. She was born Nov. 14, 1826, on the Sworts farm. She lived there until her marriage to Floyd Florance, and then they moved to a farm in the town of Milo, where they lived 40 years. After the death of Mr. Florance about twenty years ago, she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Fred Miller. She was the mother of five children, four of whom are living: Mrs. Miller, with whom she lived; Mrs. Lydia Miller, of Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Tasa Moon of Branchport; and William Florance of this town. She was a member of the Second Milo Baptist Church.
