Rose, 72, of 315 Dodge Ave., died early this morning at Corning Hospital, where she had been a patient since Tuesday. Born in Dundee, Dec. 8, 1900, she was the daughter of William and Dollie Struble Florance. A graduate of the Dundee area schools, she was employed as a crane operator at the Ingersoll-Rand Co. in the 1940s and worked for many years as a practical nurse in the Corning and Dundee areas. She also a member of the Dundee Baptist Church. Her husband, Merton Rose, died Oct. 9, 1972. Surviving are: two sons, Richard Rose of Mocksville, N. C. and Alton Rose of Corning; two daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Alta) Rockwell of Corning and Mrs. Albert (Eleanor) Green of Elmira Heights; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. The body will be removed to Pennington-Oughterson Funeral Home in Dundee, where funeral arrangements are incomplete today. A complete obituary will appear in The Leader Saturday. McDowell... Viola E. Rose of Corning died July 13 leaving a personal estate listed at $1,000 and real property of $30,000. Letters of testamentary were issued to a daughter, Eleanor L. Green of Elmira Heights. Cash bequests were made to each of four grandchildren; Michael Rose of Mocksville, N. C., Bonnie Simmons of Campbell; Susan Rockwell and Terri Rockwell, both of Corning. The executrix was left certain personal belongings and the residue of the estate will be shared by the four children; the executrix, Alta R. Rockwell of Corning, Alton Rose of Corning and Richard N. Rose of Mocksville, N. C. -- The Leader, Corning, NY, July 24, 1973 Court Handles Four Estates Bath -- Four estates matters were handled recently in Steuben County Surrogate Court. Viola E. Rose of Corning, who died July 13, left several cash bequests from her estate listed as more than $30,000 in real property and in excess of $1,000 in personal property. She left $1,000 each to four grandchildren, Michael Rose of Mocksville, N. C., Bonnie Simmons of Campbell; Susan Rockwell and Terri Rockwell, both of Corning. The will also directs the executrix, a daughter, Eleanor Green of Elmira Heights, to divide certain household and personal property items. The remainder of the estate goes to the children of the decedant: the executrix, Alta R. Rockwell of Corning, Alton Rose of Corning and Richard Rose of Mocksville, N.
