Fultz and Gerald Crans of this village were hurrying to get a load of hay unloaded and in the mow before it rained when the violent storm struck. One bolt of lightning knocked Crans off the wagon and stunned him momentarily. When he called Fultz, who was up in the mow, he received no answer and upon investigation found him lying in the mow where he had been knocked by the lightning. The barn was filled with smoke, and Dundee firemen and a doctor were summoned. Artificial respiration methods were applied by the firemen but they were unable to resuscitate him. This was the second time Mr. Fultz had been struck by lightning. The other time occurred several years ago in a different part of the same barn where he was struck and killed Wednesday. Nothing in the barn was ignited by the lightning and no blaze developed from the bolt which struck Mr. Fultz. He was born in Himrod, April 27, 1893, and had always lived in this area where he was a farmer. On November 14, 1917, he was married to Bertha Wixson of this town. He was a member of the Dundee Baptist church. Survivors are his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Lester Eyrich, Dundee; Mildred Fultz, Elmira; Joyce Ann Fultz, at home; son Richard Fultz, at home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Foldine Fultz, Dundee, granddaughter, Jean Eyrich, Dundee; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Spangolette, Atlanta, N. Y., and Mrs. Leta Rumsey, Savona. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Sargent funeral home with burial in Hillside cemetery, Rev. T. W. Carter of Savona officiating, assisted by Rev. Kenneth Arnold. (This was presumably taken from the Dundee Observer.)
