LEWIS PRIOR Jennette Deal Prior, 65, wife of Lewis H. Prior of this village, passed away unexpectedly Thursday night at the family home. She had been a faithful and devoted member of the Methodist church since early childhood. She had always taken a great interest in missionary work, having been president of the Missionary Society of the Dundee Methodist Church for many years. She was born in Lima, Livingston County, January 21, 1876. Besides her husband she is survived by one daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Prior of Ithaca; a stepson, Walter Prior of this village, and two stepgrandsons, also of this village. Also surviving are five sisters: Elizabeth Adsit, Clifton Park, N. J.; Ella Holmes, Castile; Harriet Hughes, Buskirk; Marjorie Lilly, Angelica; Ruth Day, Lima; and two brothers, Asa Roy Deal, Victor; Dr. John Ellis Deal, Vernon Center. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at the family home. Rev. Floyd Guiles, pastor of the Dundee Methodist church officiated, assisted by Rev. L. E. Otter of Elmira and Rev. William Brown of Hemlock. Interment was in Hillside cemetery. (This is presumably from the Dundee Observer, 1941)
