Robertson of the town of Potter County of Yates and State of New York do make and publish this my last will and testament in the following manner. First. I will and bequeath to my son Otis Marion all the us [?] rents and proffits of the farm on which I now reside untill he the said Otis Marion shall arive at the age of twenty one years, said farm being the same bequeathed to me by will of Robert Robertson dated March eleventh eighteen hundren fifty two refference make thereto I give to the said Otis Marion to use for his benefit untill he Otis Marion shall arive at the age of twenty one years all the farming utensils belonging to me on the farm at the day of my death together with one red cow one roan yearling also all my interest in the grain growing on the farm and what is in the barn also thirty sheep and when he Otis Marion shall arive at the age of twenty one years the above mentioned personal property shall be sold and the profits divided equally between my eight children. Second. I give to my son Otis Marion my cook stove my gilt frame looking glass seven rush bottom chairs one large rocking chair my light colored single bedstead and bed belonging to the same two comforters one quilt one unfinished basket quilt my bay hors named Dick Third I give to my daughter Sary Jane Slaughter one mahogony box my castor and my carving knife and fork. Fourth I give to my daughter Caroline Shoemaker my gold watch my hood my bilmorel three comforters one quilt one feather bed my black woolen shawl my rag carpet my mahogony table two large glass sauce dishes twelve small glass dishes twelve cups and twelve saucers six goblets twelve plates and all my blue dishes. Fifth I give to my daughter Hariot Shoemaker the remainder of my dishes my gold breast pin one white bed spread one linen table cloth one feather bed one comforter one album quilt my black silk shawl. Sixth I give to my daughter Susan Hyett I give my portreate and frame also the portrate and frame of Robert Robertson six knives and six forks one comforter my brown worsted drep one brown linen table cloth. Seventh To my son William Seward I give my beaureau and my bible. To my son Floyd I give six silver teaspoons my map of the State of New York and the book connected with it. To my son Aaron Dexter I give my large silver spoons my clock and my cherry table. I give my red shawl to Ella Shoemaker. Dated this 24th Jan 1867 Sophia Y. Robertson L.S. Yates Surrogate's Court Be it remembered, that heretofore, In the matter of proving the to wit, on the 23rd day of March last will and testament in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven Isaac Sophia Y. Robertson deceased Lane as general guardian for Otis M. Robertson who is a minor and legatee named in the last will and testament of Sophia Y. Robertson late of the town of Potter in said County of Yates deceased appeared in open Court before the Surrogare of the County of Yates and made application to have the said last will and testament which related to real and personal estate proved and on such application the Surrogate did ascertain by satisfactory evidence who were the heirs and next of kin of the said testator and their respective residences and ages and said Surrogate did thereupon issue a citation in due form of law directed to the said heirs and next of kin by their respective names stating their respective places of residence requesting them to appear before the said Surrogate at his office in the village of PennYan in said County of Yates on the 20th day of May then next, to attend the probate of said will. And afterwards to wit, on the said 20 th day of May satisfactory evidence by affidavit was produced and presented to said Surrogate of the service of the said citation in the mode prescribed by law and it appearing that the said Otis M. Robertson one of said heirs at law and next of kin was a minor David B. Prosser Esquire of Penn Yan was duly appointed his special guardian to take care of his interest in the premises, and on that day no one appearing to oppose the probate of such will and the said special guardian appearing in person before the said Surrogare such proceedings were therupon had afterwards that the Surrogate took the proof of said will hereinafter set forth upon this 20th day of May in the year one thousand eight hundred and sixty seven, and he adjudged the said will to be a valid will of real and personal estate and the proofs thereof to be sufficient which said last will and testament and proofs are as follows that is to say, Additional Comments: Spelling was left as written in these writings. The last part of this was actually the prelude to the will. This is my ggggrandmother Sophia Yeckley Robertson. She is buried along side her husband in the Voak Cemetery in Yates County NY. Their son Aaron Dexter is my line.
