All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Deppner http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00012.html#0002870 November 3, 2010, 12:07 am Written: March 26, 1828 Recorded: April 15, 1828 Adams County, Ohio Deed Book 13, pages 341-342 Alexander to Alexander This Indenture made this twenty sixth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty eight between Andrew Alexander Sen'r. and Agnes his wife of the County of Adams and State of Ohio of the one part and Andrew Alexander Jn'r. of the County of State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said Andrew Alexander Sen'r. and Agnes his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of one hundred and seventy four Dollars thirty seven and one half cents to them in hand paid the receipt of which they do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell alien and confirm unto the said Andrew Alexander Jn'r. his heirs & assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid on the waters of the West fork of Brush it being a part of 155-1/2 acres granted by Samuel Black unto the said Andrew Alexander Sen'r. part of the Survey of 1000 acres No. 2045 bounded and described as follows to wit Begining at an elm broke down and a red bud standing (the deed Samuel Black to Andrew Alexander caling for an elm and two red buds) S.W. corner to the survey of 155-1/2 acres and running thence with Andrew Clemmer and Joel Bailey S 67-1/2 E 137 poles to a black oak ash & hickory thence with Anthony Rhoades N 33-1/2 E 110 poles to a white oak S.E. corner to Wm. Alexander thence N83 W 148 poles to three ironwood and a sugartree thence with Samuel Kendall S 20-3/4 W 69-7/10 poles to the Begining containing Seventy seven and a half acres be the same more or less Together with all improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed with all & Singular the premises unto the said Andrew Alexander Jn'r. his heirs And assigns forever and they the said Andrew Alexander Sen'r. and Agnes his wife and their heirs executors and administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the said Andrew Alexander Jn'r. his heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises before mentioned now are & forever hereafter shall remain free of and from all former gifts grants bargains sales dower right and title of dower judgments and incumbrances whatsoever done or suffered to be done by them or either of them and the said Andrew Alexander Sen'r. and Agnes his wife and their heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances unto the said Andrew Alexander Jn'r. his heirs & assigns against them the said Andrew Alexander Sen'r. and Agnes his wife and their heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In Witness Whereof they the said Andrew Alexander Sen'r. and Agnes his wife have herewith set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. This day Andrew Alexander Sen'r personally came before me a justice of the peace of said county & acknowledged the signing sealing and delivering of the within deed to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. Also at the same time came Agnes his wife who being made acquainted with the contents of said conveyance and being by me examined seperate and apart from her said husband declares that she signed sealed and as her act and deed delivered the same freely voluntarily and of her own accord without any coertion or compulsion of her said husband for the purposes therein mentioned.
