Latham their attorney for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred and Sixty six Dollars to them in hand before the ensealing and delivery hereof well and truly paid by James Alexander of the County of Adams in the State of Ohio the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and are therewith fully satisfied and contented have granted bargained Sold aliened and conveyed and by these presents do bargain alien Sell and convey unto him the said James Alexander his heirs and assigns forever all that certain certain (sic) tract of land on Hills fork of Eagle Creek in said County of Adams part of survey No. 798 being the same land sold to said Alexander by John Ellison Beginning at two black oaks and a dogwood South east corner to William Robbins Survey or lot thence with his line North 187-1/2 poles to two white oaks and a black ash his north east corner thence with Pickett's line East 100 poles to a white oak and two dogwoods corner to John H. Shepherd's lot thence with his line South 187-1/2 poles to two white oaks on Hannahs line Shepherds south west corner thence west 100 poles to the Beginning containing 116-1/2 acres To Have & to Hold the said demised and bargained premises with all the appurtenances privileges and commodities to the same belonging to him the said James Alexander & his heirs and assigns forever to his only proper use benefit and behoof forever and they the said Richard C. and Sarah Anderson for their heirs executors & administrators do covenant to and with the said James Alexander and his heirs and assigns that before the ensealing hereof they are the rightful owners of the above bargained premises and have good right to sell and convey the same in the manner as aforesaid & furthermore do covenant and engage & warrant the above demised premises to him the said James Alexander & his heirs and assigns so that neither they the said Richard C. & Sarah nor their heirs shall by any means hereafter have claim or demand, in or to the premises aforesaid or any part or parcel thereof and they the said James Alexander & his heirs and assigns shall and may forever hereafter possess and enjoy the same free and clear of and from all lawful claims and demands of all persons claiming or to claim by from or under us or either of us and against all other persons. In Testimony Whereof they have hereunto set their hands and seals this 4th day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty six. The word "warrant" interlined before signing. Be it Known that on the 4th day of June 1826 before me a justice of the peace for the County aforesaid personally appeared Allen Latham attorney in fact for Richard C. Anderson and Sarah Anderson wife of said Richard C. above named & acknowledged the above deed to be their voluntary act by him signed sealed & delivered by virtue of two letters of Attorney him thereunto enabling recorded in the recorder's office of Adams County.
