A. C. This Indenture made and concluded this Sixth day of March one thousand Eight hundred and nine between William Bryan and Betsy his wife of the county of Lincoln and State of Kentucky of the one part and Andrew Alexander of the county of Garrard and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and Eighteen Dollars and a half in hand paid before the Sealing and delivering of these presents by the said Andrew Alexander the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and Sold and by these presents doth grant bargain and Sell unto the said Andrew Alexander his heirs and assigns a tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Adams and State of Ohio and on the waters of the West fork of Brush Creek being part of a survey made in the name of Thomas Blackwell and Patented in the name of the said William Bryan Begining at a hickory in the north line of the original Survey and north West corner to Jeremiah Fenton Senr. thence with the north line of the original Survey north Sixty nine West One hundred and twenty eight pole to a white Walnut and buckeye North East corner to Spencer Record’s Survey thence with his line thence South twenty two and three Eights degrees West One hundred and thirty Six pole and Seventeen links to a Dogwood readbud and read Oak thence South Sixty nine East One hundred and twenty Eight Pole to a readbud and two Dogwoods thence North twenty two and three Eighths East One hundred and thirty six pole and seventeen links to the begining Together with all the estate right title and claim whatsoever of them the said William Bryan and Betsey his wife for themselves their heirs &c if the said land should be lost [to?] any lawful prior claim the said William Bryan obliges himself his heirs &c to pay unto the said Andrew Alexander his heirs &c the above mentioned sum of two hundred and Eighteen dollars and one half with lawful interest thereon. In Witness whereof the said William Bryan and Betsey his wife hath hereunto set their hands and Seals the day and year above written. Wm. Bryan (Seal) Elizabeth Bryan (Seal) Kentucky Lincoln County) This day came William Bryan before us James Hickman and John Withers two of the acting Justices of the peace for Said County and acknowledged the within conveyance to be his act and deed. Given under our hands and Seals this 6th day of March One thousand Eight hundred & nine. James Hickman (Seal) John Withers (Seal) Kentucky Lincoln County Sc. This day we James Hickman and John Withers two of the acting Justices of the Pease for said county and State aforesaid Examined Betsy Bryan Wife of William Bryan apart from her husband and she acknowledged that she willingly and without any threat or fear of her husband relinquished her right of dower to the within mentioned tract of land. I Thomas Montgomery Clerk of the Court of the county aforesaid do hereby certify that the within Indenture of bargain & Sale from William Bryan & Elizabeth Bryan his wife to Andrew Alexander was exhibited & with the certificate of acknowledgement of William Bryan thereon indorsed and also the certificate of the relinquishment of dower thereon indorsed by James Hickman and John Withers who are duly Commissioned & qualified as Such duly authorized by law to take the acknowledgements of all deeds &c whilst acting in their official capacity and that the same is hereby recorded in my office.
