A. C. This Indenture made this twentieth day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven between William Bryan of Lincoln county and state of Kentucky of the one part and William Alexander and Gabriel Alexander of Mason County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William Bryan for and in Consideration of the sum of Five hundred Dollars to him in hand paid the the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and himself satisfied hath bargained sold and granted and by these presents to grant bargain and sell unto the said William and Gabriel Alexander their heirs executors administrators and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land Containing two hundred Acres lying and being in the County of Adams and State of Ohio on the west fork of Brush Creek and bounded as follows to wit Beginning at an Elder and two ash trees thence with the original line N 22-3/8 East 149 poles to an ash and hickory tree corner to Spencer Records thence leaving the original line and running with said Records line S 69 E 212 poles passing Records corner at 198 poles to a sugar tree and two redbud saplins in Fentons line thence S22-3/8 W 145 poles to a black gum tree in the original line thence with the original line N 68 W 212 poles to the beginning To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land with its appurtenances to the said William and Gabriel Alexander and their heirs forever and I the said William Bryan do further covenant and agree with the said Alexanders and their heirs to warrant and defend the said tract or parcel of land on the following conditions (to wit) that is to say if the above land or any part thereof be lost to Prior or better claim then and in that case the said Bryan to refund at the rate of fifteen shillings per acre with lawfull Interest from the above date. In testimony whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal the day and date above written. Wm. Bryan (Seal) David Bryan, Andrew Alexander State of Kentucky Lincoln County Sct I Thomas Helm Clerk of the court holden for the County of Lincoln aforesaid in the state aforesaid who am duly authorised by law to receive the acknowledgement & proof of all deeds letters of attorney &c do hereby certify that on the 21st day of December in the year 1811 this Indenture of bargain sale & conveyance from William Bryan to William & Gabriel Alexander was proven to be the act & deed of the same William Bryan by the oaths of David Bryan & Andrew Alexander subscribing witnesses thereto.
