A. C. This Indenture made and concluded on this thirty first day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve between David Harbison Sen’r. of the county of Shelvey [sic] and State of Kentucky of the one part and John Alexander of the county of Adams and State of Ohio of the other part. Witnesseth that for and in consideration of seven hundred and fifteen dollars to me the sd. David Harbison in hand paid the receipt whereof whereof I do hereby acknowledge and him the sd. John Alexander do grant bargain and sell alien and confirm unto the sd. John Alexander his heirs & assigns forever all that Tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the county of Adams and State of Ohio Eagle Township on the waters of the west fork of Brush creek it being a part of a Military warrant No. 2287 [a long blank space here] and patented in the name of Abraham Hite assignee of Jacob Coalinan and conveyed to the sd. David Harbison Sen’r. by deed from the sd. Abraham Hite and bounded and described as follows (to wit) Beginning at a stake and two dogwoods saplins in the original North Boundary line thence with the original line South Sixty six East one hundred and thirty poles to a stake and two dogwood saplins in the original line thence South twenty three west three hundred and sixty three poles to two dogwoods in the original South boundary line thence North sixty six West one hundred and fifty eight poles crosing a creek to two Ellums on the bank of the creak in the original patent line thence North twenty three East one hundred and sixty nine poles to a hickory thence South sixty six East twenty eight poles to a hickry thence North twenty three East one hundred and ninety four poles to the Beginning containing three hundred and twenty four acres To have and to hold the above granted Land and premises with the appurtenances thereunto belonging and all rights and priviledges to the same or in any wise belonging to him the said David Harbison senior to him the sd. John Alexander his heirs or assigns to and for his only proper use benefit and behoof forever warrant and defend the above described tract or parcel of land from myself my heirs executors administrators or assigns and from all person or manner of persons whatsoever claiming or to claim the same with all the priviledges and appertenances in anywise thereunto belonging to him the said John Alexander forever. In Witness whereoff I have hereunto subscribed my hand and affixed my seal this 31st day of January 1812.
