			ELMER C. CHENOWETH
	Elmer C. Chenoweth, 83, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 1997, at 
Highland District Hospital.
	He was born March 17, 1914, in Adams County, the son of the late 
Ernest Chenoweth and Bessie (Freeze) Chenoweth.
	 He was united in marriage to his wife of 27 years, Myrtle (Carter) 
Chenoweth, whom survives.  Also surviving are three step-sons, Jack Heffner of 
Piketon, Isaac Heffner of Beaver and Ed Heffner of Hillsboro; five step-
daughters, Betty Christian of Mississippi, Becky Blair of Beaver, Beauty 
Travis of Lucasville; Betsy Thompson of Piketon and Bettina Nichols of 
Lucasville; two sisters, Lucille Parker of Hillsboro and Vergie Kerns of 
Latham; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
	He was a retired well driller for many years.
	… Brooke-Lafferty-Wallace and Thompson Funeral home in Peebles.
Burial in Locust Grove Cemetery. …
