OLES J. COOPER. OLES J. COOPER, 96, of Greenfield, died Friday, June 4, 2004 at Edgewood Manor in Greenfield. He was born April 11, 1908 in Adams County, the son of LEE COOPER and BERTHA (FITE) COOPER. Survivors include his wife, BERTHA (HOPKINS) COOPER, whom he married on March 21, 1961; one son, CODY (LISA) COOPER of Greenfield; three stepdaughters, ELINOR HAYNES of Clarksburg, SHIRLEY (DANNY) LOVETT of Greenfield, and DIANA (MIKE) HESTER of Washington C.H.; seven grandchildren, ERIN (MIKE) LITTLE, APRIL COOPER, AMBER COOPER, BRICE COOPER, BRANT COOPER, CALEB COOPER and CAMRON COOPER; two great-grandchildren, ISAAC LITTLE and KENNEDY COOPER; 10 step- grandchildren; 26 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, OSCAR, HARRY, HARLAN, and GUS; and three sisters, ROXIE, SILVA, EDRIE COOPER, and RUBY COOPER. He was a carpenter, a member of Carpenters Local 1255 of Portsmouth, and the First Baptist Church of Newport, Ky., and was in the U.S. Army Air Corps during War War II.
