Gustin, last Saturday night at a few nimutes before twelve o'clock. Ever since he was a boy of seveenteen, Ed. Gustin had been a suffer from rheumatism, and the last few weeks of life were filled with the exoraciating pains caused by that disease. For several years the deceased and his brother, Philip, have lived together across from the fair grounds, and through his sickness he was tenderly cared for by his brother and sister, Mrs. Ed Lawler. In order that his sister might be with him more, he was carefully moved to her home Saturday morning, but his stay there was brief and he died at twelve o'clock that night. The disease settled itself in its victim's back and neck, and for years he had slowly been bending forward and at the time of his death, hes head had been drawn so closely to his neck that the breast bones had buried themselves in his throat. After his death, however, his body straightened out sufficiently to go in the coffin. Edward Gustin was the son of S.J. and Mary J. Gustin. He was born in this county, asn ws thirty years and four months old. He drove the Blue Creek mail route for over four years, but had to give it up several years ago because of his malady. He leaves besides his father, who resides ad Dunkinsvill, three brothers, Phillip, of West Union; Frank, of Dunkinsville; and George, of Peebles; and three sisters, Mrs. kate Rector, of Seaman; Mrs. Laura Lawell, of Dunkinsville; and Mrs. Ellen Lawler, of West Union; also a half sister, Mrs. Lavina Rector, of Seaman. The funeral services were conducted Monday morning at the I.O.O.F. cemetery by Rev. S.A. McNeallan, and his remains were laid to rest beside those of his mother.
