Mrs. Sarah McGoveny, wife of Carey McGoveny, postmaster at Osman's, died Wednesday morning at two o'clock, death being caused by consumption. Sarah McClughen was the daughter of James McClughen, and was born at Winchester, February 3, fifty years ago. She was a women of bright mind and for over twelve years, was one of Adams county's foremost teachers. In February 1881, she was married to Carey McGoveny and to them were born three children, James M. aged nineteen, Mary Itts, aged thirteen and Lulu, aged twelve. She also leaves one brother, James Wilson McClughen, who lives on the home place at Winchester, and three sisters, Mrs. Nancy Shruffler, of near Winchester, Miss Mary, who made her home with the deceased, and Mrs. Martha Reed, of Cherry Fork. The funeral will be held here, this morning at eleven o'clock, at the Baptist church. Rev. Evans, of Winchester, will conduct the services and internment will take place in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
