PETERSIMON James EPPS was taken before Judge Robb, Wednesday, charged with stealing coal. The boy acknowledged his guilt, but said he didn't know it was wrong to steal coal from a railroad company. He told the court there were boys and men who made it a business of stealing coal, having regular customers who bought from them every week. Tons of coal have been stolen this winter and the railroad companies are determined to break up this practice. On acount of the boy's youth and the extenuating circumstances of his family, he was fined $ 1 and given one day in jail. Submitted by Linda Dietz Apr 10, 2000 ----OHFOOTSTEPS List------
