T. E. CUNNINGHAM As a further mark of respect due the memory of their dead comrade, Theodore E. Cunningham, the members of the Allen County bar, with the many lawyers from other northwestern Ohio counties, who were present at the funeral, assembled in the Court room, and many and eloquent were the words that went up in honor of the deceased. The Putnam County Bar, which was nearly all present, submitted the following tribute: At a meeting of the members of the Bar of Putnam county, called for the purpose of taking action with reference to the death of Hon. Theodore Cunningham, the following were adopted: In the providence of God there has passed from among us one whom we have admired, respected, loved. Generous, courteous, high souled, able, cultivated, in every sense of the word, a man, the place to our hearts which he has filled will remain empty for evermore. Doan Cunningham is dead. In token of our sorrow for his loss, our respect for his memory, and our sympathy with those near and dear to him.— Resolved, That the Bar of Putnam county with whom he associated and whose every member was his loving friend, will hear him always in their memories as an example of high professional probity, of genial courtesy, of more than ordinary talent, in fact, of all the qualities which form a perfect lawyer. Resolved. That we tender to his sorrowing wife and children our heartfelt sympathy in this their time of trial, having but this comfort to offer, that his life here is but a prelude to the higher, happier life beyond. Resolved. That the Bar of Putnam county attend in a body the funeral of our deceased brother. Resolved. That these resolutions be spread upon the records of our Court, a copy be presented to his widow and that they be published in the papers of this and Allen County."
