(Doc) Cook, 71 died at 2:45 p.m. Dec 26, 1998, at Lima Memorial Hospital. He was born July 21, 1927, in Lexington, Ky., to Wilbur L. and Nodie I. (Sharp) Cook. On May 3, 1958, he married Dorothy L. Gibson who survives. Mr Cook retired as a truck driver after 40 years for Steed Trucking Co., Otis Wright Trucking, Yale Bloom Trucking and Superior Coach. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275 and was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors also include a son Chandler R., two daughters Dorothy L. and Esther E. all of Lima; a brother Joe of Lima; eight grandchildren and a g-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son Larry L.; two brothers William R. and LeRoy, a sister Esther Gladieux. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Shawnee Chapel of Chiles & Sons- Laman Funeral Homes. The Rev. F. Edward Jarrell will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by VFW Post 1275. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
