Delphos Herald, 18 October 1888
Christian Daub died at his home in this place on Friday, Oct. 12th, aged 46 
years. He was taken sick with sciatic rheumatism several months ago and other 
complications followed which made his suffering very severe. Careful nursing 
lengthened his lease of life but it was evident quite early in his illness that 
he could not recover. The funeral services were held at St. John's church 
Sunday afternoon and had a very large attendance. The deceased was a member of 
Reul Post, G.A.R., and that organization turned out in a body to attend the 
services.
