Lima News, September 29, 1922

ANDREW J. OWENS, 82, dean of the Allen-co bar, and one of the oldest lawyers 
in Allen-co, died September 28th at his home in Bluffton, from general 
debility.  He was admitted to the bar in July, 1863, and has practiced law in 
Allen-co for 59 years.  His wife died six months ago at the age of 79.

He is survived by six children, four sons, Dr. OTTO OWENS, Kalida, and JOSEPH 
OWENS, Bluffton, and four daughters, Mrs. AGATHA OSTENDORF, Delphos, Mrs. MARY 
PLEASANT, Bluffton, Mrs. ZENOBIA ESELY, Mt. Vernon, and Mrs. HORTENSE LOWERY, 
of Lima.

Funeral services will be held Saturday from St. Mary’s Catholic church at 
Bluffton.  The Rev. Father Crosby of St. Gerard’s church, Lima, will 
officiate.  Burial will be in Maple Grove cemetery.
