Lima News, September 5, 1925

HERBERT S. PROPHET, 51, pioneer Lima resident, died at his Market-st home 
September 5th.  Death was due to cancer after an illness lasting six months.  
The deceased was born in Lima August 14, 1874 and with the exception of ten 
years when he conducted a furniture store in Connersville, Ind., has spent his 
entire life here.  Mr. PROPHET was a member of the Elks and Masonic lodges.  
He is survived by the widow; one daughter, Mrs. FRANCIS O’CONNOR, and two 
sisters, Mrs. GEORGE PLATE and Mrs. GUY CUSTER.  Funeral services will be held 
at the residence on Tuesday and interment will be in Woodlawn cemetery.
