Located on the Snyder farm ( 1979 ) on the south side of CR 2575 about 1/2 mile west of the Pioneer Cemetery. It is overgrown with briars and poison ivy so that it is almost impossible to find . This is the burial place of the Bender and Warnes families, who wrested homes and farms from the virgin wilderness which was Lake township , upon their arrival from Pennsylvania about 1828. The farm is still in possession of the Bender-Warnes decendants, who have the land grants to the property. These grants were signed by John Quincy Adams in 1826. John Warnes and George Bender , the first members of the families to settle in Lahe township were interested in the tenets of the German Reformed Church and had planned to build a church at the site of the cemetery before St. John's congregation was formed, in 1840. Plans for the erection of a meeting house were abandoned when a church was built at the site of Pioneer Cemetery a short distance east of Bender - Warnes. Twenty three monuments dating from 1835 to 1891 remain in this burial place; marking the graves of such pioneer families as; the Benders , Warrens, Wolfe, Alguiers, harners, and Sumners.
