  The Golden Wedding anniversary of William A. Wallett and Miss Sallie M. Landis who
were married at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Landis n
Ashland county, Ohio, Aug 23, 1863 by Rev. Wm. Emerson, was celebrated Saturday,
Aug.23, at their home in this village (Pioneer, Williams County, Ohio).
  Seventy-five guests, including relatives and friends, met at the home, and after a
picture of the group was taken, repaired to Waterston's Hall where a short program
was carried out in part.  The copany then adjourned for dinner.  Upon the table were
many geautiful bouquets, gifts from friends of the bride and groom.  After dinner
the program was concluded.  The Rev. Emanuel Slagle gave a plendid address after
which he presented the presents.  A handsome Mom's chair and a set of gold gand
china dishes were gifts from the children, from other relatives and friends they
received fifteen dollars in gold, tipped umbrella, gold lined spoon tray, gold
candle stick, gold pen, silver cream and fruit ladles, crocheted centerpiece and
several beautiful dishes.
  The family consists of seven children and twenty-six grandchildren, all of them
living and all of whom were present withe the exception of one grandchild.  Those
present were; W.E. Wallett and family, George Waterston and family, Walter Fisher
and family, C.O. Wallett and family, T.E. Knapp and family, H.F. Wallett and wife
and L.E. Wallett and family.  FromAsholand county were Levi Landis and wife, William
Landis and wife, John Westaver, wife and daughter, Cleo. O Hartzel and wife, Mrs.
Roy Welsh, Mrs. Bertie Kline, H.F. Wallett and wife and David Eshlemand of Rocky
River, Ohio and other relatives and friends from this county.
