Samuel Finley, a resident of Ashland for a great many years, passed away this
morning at 6:20 o’clock at 
the home of his grandson and granddaughter, Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Sheppard, on Meyers
avenue, after an 
illness of a little over a week.  He was aged 78 years, 10 months and 14 days,
having been born in 
Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania.  He was a son of Joseph and Sarah Finley.  One
son died fourteen 
years ago, a daughter 8 years ago and his wife preceded him in death four years ago.
 Two sons and three 
daughters survive him as follow:  Ellsworth Finley, John Finley, Mrs. Emma Shuey,
Mrs. Theadocia Switzer 
and Mrs. Sada Burns.  One brother is living; also four sisters and a number of
grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday afternoon.  There will be prayer at the
Sheppard home at 2:30 
o’clock, followed by regular services at Mission Chapel, conducted by the Rev. W.M.
Desenberg.
