He suffered a violent death in an automobile accident June 21st, 1919. Raymond had spent his entire 22 years, 6 months and 17 days in Loudonville except the time spent in the service of his country. He entered the service at Camp Sherman, Ohio, September 5, 1918, and was placed in Second Company, Sany Hook C.A.C. National Army. He faithfully did his duties as a soldier until he was discharged at Fort Hancock, N.J., December 11, 1918. On June 23, 1919, after a service at his home, conducted by Rev. Twining of the Baptist church, his comrades carried the body of Raymond to its last resting place where the military burial service was rendered. He leaves to mourn his loss his parents Calvin and Rose Wise Jordan, three sisters Mrs. Zella Bellamy, Hazel and Florence, and three brothers Arthur, Harold and Robert and many relatives and friends. Ray was of a cheerful disposition and brought sunshine and smiles wherever he went.
