Bushnell and George A. Roundy the subscribing witnesses to said Will appeared in Open Court and testified to the due execution of the same which testimony was reduced to writing and offered with said Will, and which testimony is in the words and figures following to wit. The Law. In the matter of the last Will and Testament of Jared Parker late of the Township of Monroe in the County of Ashtabula and State of Ohio: We the Subscribers being duly sworn depose and say that we were present when the said Jared Parker signed said Will and that he was of sound and disposing mind and memory and more than twenty one years of age and that he executed said Will freely and voluntarily being under no restraint and that we attested said Will in the presence of the said Jared Parker and of each other Sidney. S. Bushnell George A. Roundy – Sworn to and Subscribed before me this eighteenth day of October A D 1852. J. A. Giddings Probate Judge – And which said Will is in the words and figures following to wit. In the name of the Benevolent father of all: I Jared Parker of Monroe Township in the County of Ashtabula and State of Ohio being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last Will and Testament. First. It is my Will that all my just debts and all proper charges be paid out of my personal Estate. Second. I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Parker my farm in the Township of Sheffield in the County aforesaid containing about forty three acres and also about twenty three acres in another piece situate in the same township of Sheffield, Also my house and lot of land on which we now live containing about one half of an acre situate in the villiage [sic] of Monroe in said County of Ashtabula during her natural life, and all the Stock houshold [sic] goods furniture provisions and other goods and chattels which may be there on at the time of my decease, and also all moneys and credits which may be in my possession or due to me at the time of my decease except what may be necessary to pay all my just debts, and furnish suitable tomb stones for the graves of Samuel Parker and Hannah Parker deceased and also for my own grave – And at the death of my said wife the real estate aforesaid and such part of the said personal property or the proceeds thereof, after providing suitable tombstones for her grave, as may there remain unconsumed and unexpended I give and devise to my children Jairus Parker Samuel R Parker Sarah M. Hawkins Charles Parker Thomas B. Parker William L. Parker Ezra A. Parker Angeline S. Roundy and Asa Z. Parker and their heirs forever. Third. I give and bequeath my lot of land containing fifty five acres situate in Summit Township in the County of Crawford and State of Pennsylvania and also my house and lot containing one third of an acre of land situate in the villiage [sic] of Harmonsburg in the Township of Summit aforesaid to my children Jairus Parker, Samuel R. Parker, Sarah M. Hawkins, Charles Parker, Thomas B. Parker, William L. Parker, Ezra A. Parker, Angelina C. Roundy and Asa Z. Parker and their heirs forever to share equally in the alike divided expenses or the proceeds thereof – Fourth. I ordain and appoint my son Samuel R. Parker as Executer of this my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunder set my hand and seal and publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in the presence of the witnesses named below this fourth day of February in the year of the Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two. Jared Parker (??) Signed Sealed published and declared by the said Jared Parker as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other and at his request have hereunto set and subscribed our names as witnesses. George A. Roundy, Sidney S. Bushnell. And it appearing to the Court by said Testimony that said Will was duly attested and executed and that said Testator at the time of executing said Will was of sound mind and memory and not under any restraint it was ordered that said Will and testimony be recorded. Where upon the said Samuel R. Parker, the Executor therein named appeared in open court and signified his acceptance of the trust of executing said Will; It was therefore ordered that letters Testamentary be issued to the said Samuel R. Parker upon his giving bond in the sum of one thousand dollars with S. S. Bushnell and A Kellogg as Sureties conditioned according to law – And thereupon the said Executor appeared in open court and accepted said trust and filed his bond accordingly. Whereupon letters Testamentary were issued by said Court in the words and figures following to wit. ‘The State of Ohio Ashtabula County (?). In the Probate Court. To all to whom there present shall come Greeting! Know ye that before me J. A. Giddings Probate Judge of the County and State aforesaid at the office of said Court in Jefferson on the eighteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two the last Will and Testament of Jared Parker late of the county aforesaid deceased (a true copy of which is here unto annexed) was duly proved and approved by me. And the said Jared Parker deceased having whilst he lived and at the time of his death divers goods chattels and credits within said county, the proving and registering said Will, and the granting administration of said goods chattels and credits, and also the auditing and final discharging of the account thereof belonging to me: Administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased, and all matters concerning of said Will is committed unto Samuel R. Parker the Executor therein named. And I do hereby require him the said Samuel R. Parker will and truly to perform the said Will by paying first the debts and then the legacies contained in said Will as far as the goods chattels and credits of the said Jared Parker deceased will extend and the law charge him, and he make and return to the court on oath, within three months a true inventory of all moneys goods chattels rights and credits of the testator, which are by law to be administered, and which shall have come to his possession or knowledge. And also if required by the court an inventory of the real estate of the deceased to administer according to law and the Will of the Testator all his goods chattels rights and credits and the proceeds of all his real estate, that may be sold for the payment of his debts or legacies, which shall at any time come to the possession of the Executor or to the possession of any person for him; And to render under oath a just and true account of his administration, within eighteen months, and at any other times when required by the court or the law. In testimony of which I have caused the seal of said Sheffield court to be here unto affixed at Jefferson in said county the eighteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty two.
