Horace and Lydia Morse was born in Kinsman, Ohio June 7 1842 and died June 30 1913, aged 71 years and 23 days. August 26, 1864 he enlisted in Company K, 177th C. V. L. and was honorably discharged June 24th 1865. October 1st, 1868, he was united in marriage to Miss Alice Gray. A son and two daughters were born. Adora, the youngest daughter, a sweet child of 10 years, heard the Master’s call home December 22, 1893. Royal E., the son, resides on the old homestead in Richmond, Mrs. Mabel Jenkins the surviving daughter, lives in Conneaut. To Mrs. Morse and these most estimable young people the love and sympathy of a host of friends is extended. Mr. Morse was a devout and consistent Christian. He united with the Baptist Church at the age of 13 and on August 15 1878 was received into the fellowship of the Methodist Episcopal church. He was a valuable and faithful member, earnestly striving to fulfill his work in an acceptable manner. Even in the latter days of his illness he thought of others and many will speak of the influence of a kindly entreaty and affectionate persuasion for the Kingdom. Some in the foreign field called him blessed, because of his benefactions. At one time he was a trustee of Grand River Institute, an honor unsought, but his duties were well done.
