I, Elvira Strickland of Ashtabula County, Ohio, being of sound and disposing mind and memory, but mindful of the uncertainty of life, do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament. Item 1st. After the payment of my just debts, expenses of my last sickness and funeral charges, and the legacies hereinafter mentioned, all the remainder and residue of my estate both real and personal, of whatsoever kind or nature, I do hereby give, devise and bequeath to my daughter Artinette A. E. Strickland to have and to hold the same unto her and her heirs and assigns forever. Item 2nd. I do hereby give, devise and bequeath to my daughter Marion Vaughn, wife of Charles R. Vaughn the sum of Five ($5.00) Dollars, and also the personal property which she has in her possession and for which property she gave me a receipt, as I let her have all of said property under the agreement and understanding that it was to be so much in payment of her share of her father's real estate which I was then intending to purchase but never have. Item 3rd. I give, devise and bequeath to my grandchildren Alice Vaughn & {illegible} C. Vaughn, children of Marion E. & Charles R. Vaughn the sum of Five Dollars to each, to be paid by them by my executor when they are fifteen years old. Item 4th. I give, devise and bequeath to my grandchildren Clyde A. & Arthur S. Strickland, sons of my son Harrison L. Strickland, the sum of Five Dollars each, to be paid to them when they arrive at the age of fifteen years. I do hereby revoke all former wills by me made, and do nominate and appoint Artinnette A. E. Strickland Executrix of this my last will and testament. I do not wish my said Executrix to give bond and direct the Court to omit the same and I desire no appraisement and sale of my personal property be made, and that the Court of Probate direct the omission of the same in pursuance of the estate. In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this seventeenth day of July, in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight.
