Personal references and some information from a 1930 Athens Messenger article.
Last rites held in CHAUNCEY July 22, 1930 for Elizabeth Dickerson 

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Miller Dickerson age 70, were held Monday
morning at 10 o'clock by the Rev. G. B. Courtney of the Church of Christ. The
church trio sang three hymns and burial was made in Nye Cemetery.

Mrs. Dickerson died last Friday at the home of her sister-in-law Mrs. Anna
Hartley of Vinton Co. where she had been for a few days visit. Her body was
taken to the home of her son Emmett Dickerson in Chauncey, with whom she had
been living for two years since the death of her husband Enoch Dickerson.

Mrs. Dickerson was a mother of nine children, six of them now deceased. Her
surviving children are: Thomas and Emmett of Athens Co., and Edgar of Jefferson
Co.
