Mayles: Millfield - Leroy W. Mayles, 81, of Millfield, Route 1 died Tuesday in O'Bleness Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Born in Morgan County, he was a son of the late Alexander and Henrietta Davis Mayles. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include 10 daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Nellie) Phillips and Mrs. Allen (Phyllis) Bennett, both of Millfield Route 1; Mrs. John (Charlotte) Smathers and Mrs. John (Betty) Dunfee: both of Athens, Route 3; Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Weekley, Millfield; Mrs. Opal Eismond, Newark; Mrs. Jack (Josephine) Gleason, Powhatan Point; Mrs. Raymond (Ruth) Davenport, Millfield; Mrs. Bernice Thompson, Chauncey, Mrs. Stephen (Maxine) Hamilton, Nevada; s son Delbert, Millfield; a stepson, Martin Keirns, Athens Route 4; a brother, Kirby Mayles, Chauncey; 54 grandchildren and 69 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delta in 1965, a son Deward, two sisters, Alice and Iva, five brothers, John, Pearl, Archie, Samuel and Harrison. Services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. in the Jagers and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Collins officiating. Burial will be in the Hilltop Cemetery, Millfield. Friends may call at the funeral home after Thursday noon.
