Thomas Brown
Melrose -Former Melrose Village councilman Thomas W Brown,70,Melrose died at 
4:50 pm July 17th 1987 in his residence. 
He was born June 15,1917 Paulding county. In 1948 he married June 
McCullough,who survives.He attended MelroseSchooland graduated from Oakwood 
High School in 1936.
A member of the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1945,he served as a Tech 4 with he 37th 
Reconnaissance Troop in the Phillipines Liberation and North Solomon 
campaigns. He was employed at Zeller Corp. Defiance, from1965 until retiring 
in 1983,and wasaffiliated with Melrose Methodist Church,where hewas a memberof 
the adult Sunday School Class and former teacherin the church school 
department.He alsowas a memberof American Legion Post 341 In Oakwood,VFW 
Post3360 in Defiance and United Auto workers Local 211,Defiance.
A former village councilman in Melrose for five years and a former village 
marshall,he coached little league baseball in Melrose.
also surviving are three daughters,Mrs. Gary (bonnie)plotts and Mrs. Tim
(Cindy) Mae,both of Melrose,Mrs.Dale(sharon)Schubert,route8 Defiance;two 
sons,timothy of Continental,and Barry,Route 1 Grover Hill;and six 
grandchildren.Services were Momnday inMelrose United Methodist Church with Rev 
Marc Wolff officiating.Burial was in Little auglaize Cemetary,where Oakwood 
American Legion members conducted military rites. 

Additional Comments:
son in law to George Aarron McCullough. He married June Mccullough Georges 
daughter.
