A. J. MYERS was born in Mead township in 1838. He was raised on a farm and 
followed farming until 1864 when he came to Bellaire and started a boot and 
shoe business, which is now on Belmont street. He married Cornelia WORKMAN of 
Belmont county, in 1861.
