Union Town Locals Matrimonial – Mr. Peter Snedeker was united by marriage to Miss Mollie Ross, daughter of Elder Wm. Ross of this township. Of the entertainments we can’t report but feel assured that they were given in a style befitting the wealth and position of the parties concerned. Mr. S. and his fair young bride have tendered to them the best wishes of their large circle of friends. Mr. John Caldwell and Miss Fannie Hays assumed the flowery yoke on the evening of the 24th inst. The ceremony was pronounced by Rev. J.P. Caldwell, assisted by Rev. R.S. Stewart. Polock, both of Belmont County, Ohio. Belmont Chronicle, November 21, 1872, page 3. A Golden Wedding. On the 22nd of October our worthy citizens Mr. and Mrs. J.K. Norton celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding day, at their home near Flushing; they have been married at Mt. Pleasant, Jefferson County, O., October 22nd, 1822. This occasion was one of much interest. A number of their friends assembled to congratulate the favored pair, and to partake of the handsome repast they had provided. Mrs. N. was the eldest of six sisters, who, with their husbands are all living. The oldest and youngest sisters with their husbands were present, whilst letters of kind wishes and regret were received from the far absent ones. An only brother and his wife also came to be with them, and their surviving children and grand children were all present. From other relatives and friends who could not be present, loving and congratulatory missives were received, giving assurance that many friends, though absent in body, in spirit were near, uniting with them in the gladness of the golden wedding day. Samuel Mahaffey, Mr. Cyrus Heaney and Miss Julia A. Price, all of Delmont Co., O. A Happy Event – On Wednesday evening, at the residence of the bride’s mother, Chas. E. Booth and Miss Irene E. Litton, of Clarington Ohio, were united in marriage by the Rev. Mr. Gaston, of Bellaire, Ohio. The attendants were Miss Emma Booth, Miss Mary Urpman and Miss Lobenstein; Mr. Will C. Berganthal, of Powhattan; Ernest K. Booth, of Cincinnati, and Mr. Frank Litton, of Clarington. A happy reception took place immediately after the ceremony at the home of the bride. Pringle to Miss Ella Clark, daughter of Sample Clark, Esq. the marriage ceremony was performed at 1 P.M., and soon after the parties started on a tour to the Lakes, Niagara Falls, and soon of the Eastern cities.
