YINGLING DIES TUESDAY IN HOSPITAL William H. Yingling, 65, World War I veteran and prominent Martin Ferry business man, died unexpectedly Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Martins Ferry hospital where he was a patient two days. Mr. Yingling entered the hospital for observation. The deceased, a resident of 1201 Indiana St., Martins Ferry, was born Oct 31, 1888, in the city, a son of the late Thomas and Ella Arbaugh Yingling. He was engaged in the grocery and meat provision business for many years and operated the Yingling Meat Market, founded by his mother, Ella A. Yingling, who died June 3, 1952. For a number of year Mr. Yingling operated a meat market in Bellaire. Mr. Yingling was owner of the handicap horse, Whiffenpoof, that made a fine showing at the recent Wheeling Downs meet. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic church; Martins Ferry Lodge of Elks; Fraternal Order of Eagles; Moose lodge: American Legion and the 40 & 8. Surviving are his widow, Mrs Edna Latimer Yingling; two sons, two daughters and three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. R.A. Stack of Lorain. Friends are being received at the Heslop funeral home, Walnut St. Funeral services will be conducted in the Heslop funeral home Friday afternoon at 2 with Msgr. Joseph J. Kloss officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's cemetery. The following ritualistic services will be conducted in the funeral home Thursday night; The Rosary will be recited at 7:30; Martins Ferry Fraternal order of the Eagles at 8 and Elks at 8:30.
