In the History of Ohio, There are no listings for Ayres. In volume II under Anti-Saloon League the following paragraph mentions Metcalf: The first three years of the league's history has been termed the struggle for existence. But for the timely financial assistance of such men as E. W. Metcalf of Elyria and A. I. Root of Medina, and but for the sacrificing spirit of Doctor Russell and his loyal family, the Anti-Saloon league might have experienced the same fate as its predecessors. By 1899 there were twenty-one states and territories where branches of the League had been organized. In fact, the history of the first decade of the league movement is concerned with the installation of League organizations in the several states and the creation of machinery for educating public sentiment to the enactment and enforcement of law. Volume II, Chapter VIII, Men of the Third (1873-1874) Constitutional Convention of Ohio lists: COOPER KINDERDINE WATSON was born in Jefferson County, Kentucky, June 18, 1810; educated in the common schools; studied law, was admitted to the bar and practiced; prosecuting attorney of marion County, Ohio; moved to Tiffin where he practiced law for twenty years; elected as a free-soiler to the Thirty-fourth Congress (March 4, 1855 - March 3, 1857); moved to Sandusky, Ohio; delegate to the third constitutional convention of Ohio; appointed judge of the Court of Common Please in 1876; was elected to the position and served until his death in Sandusky, Ohio, May 20, 1880. Volume III R. L. Watson has been a resident of Ohio forty years. He was born in Jefferson County, West Virginiain 1863, son of Bartholomew and Mary C. (Smith) Watson. Maternal grandfather - John F. Smith R. L. married Miss Mildred Van Schoyke from Alleghany County, New York. Volume IV Charles Gamble Watson born Penfield, Monroe County, New York, December 16, 1891, son of Abram M. and Martha (Gamble) Watson. He came to Youngstown in 1912. Charles married June 3, 1920, Youngstown, OH, Sally Leedy. Volume IV Samuel I. Watson born Allen, Copiah County, Mississippi, December 19, 1887 to John M. and Willie (Osborne) Watson. Samuel married February 8, 1921, Mildred M. Zimmerman, a native of Youngstown. Samuel grew up in his native state, worked in Holden, WV, Detroit, MI and in November, 1919 came to Youngstown.
