For a number of years, the principle-preaching place of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Sardinia, Ohio was in the house of Andrew Nevin. In 1840, Andrew Nevin donated to the church about one acre of ground, located one and a half miles southeast of Sardinia. That year, the congregation erected a frame church, which was occupied until 1860. The cemetery occupied the same site and was used extensively as long as the church was in use and only a few interments there after. The Mt. Carmel Methodist Episcopal Church was relocated into the town of Sardinia and the old church next to the cemetery was torn down. Isaac W. s/o J. R. & S. E. Rilea d.
