All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Deppner http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00012.html#0002870 October 6, 2010, 6:30 pm Written: September 19, 1818 Brown County, Ohio Deed Book A1, pages 184-186 This Indenture made this 19th day Sept AD 1818 between John Alexander Sen. and Jinnet his wife of the County of Brown and State of Ohio of the one part and Francis Alexander of the County and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Alexander Sen. and Jinnet his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $498.00/100 to them in hand paid the receipt of which they do hereby acknowledge have Granted Bargained Sold Aliened and Confirmed and by these presents do Grant Bargain Sell Alien and Confirm unto the said Francis Alexander his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County aforesaid, Situate on the west fork of Brush Creek being part of a 1000 Acre tract entered on a Military Warrant No. 2287, Deeded to David Harbison by Abraham Hite Assignee of Joab Coleman and described as follows (to wit) Begining at a Black Walnut grub, a Dogwood and Elm South East corner to John Alexander jun. joining lands of Robert Breckenridge and in a line of the original Survey running thence with Said line South 14 degrees West 164 poles crossing the creek to 3 Dogwoods South East corner of the original thence with a line of the same North 66 degrees West 174 poles to two Dogwoods, thence with John Alexander Sen. North 23 degrees East 164 poles crossing two branches of the creek to a Hickory A Gum and Red oak thence with John Alexander Junr. 66 degrees East 148 poles to the Begining, Containing 166 Acres be the same more or less. Together with all improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining To Have and To Hold the lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises unto the said Francis Alexander his heirs and assigns forever And the said John Alexander Sen'r. and Jinnet his wife and their heirs executors and administrators do Covenant Promise and agree to and with the said Francis Alexander his heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises before mentioned now are and forever hereafter shall remain free of and from all former gifts grants bargains Sales dowers right and title of Dower Judgments and Incumbrances whatsoever done or suffered to be done by them or either of them and the said John Alexander Sen'r. and Jinnet his wife and their heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with appurtenances unto the said Francis Alexander his heirs and assigns against them the said John Alexander Sen'r. and Jinnet his wife and their heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever do and will Warrant and forever Defend by these presents. In Witness Whereof they the said John Alexander Sen'r. and Jinnet his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Also at the same time came Jinnet his wife who being made acquainted with the contents of said conveyance and being by me examined seperate and apart from her said husband declared that she signed sealed and as her act and deed delivered the same freely voluntariy and of her own accord without any coercion or compulsion of her said husband.
