Witnesseth that the said John Alexander Sen'r. and Jinnet his wife for and in consideration of the sum of $498.00/100 to them in hand paid, the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge have Granted Bargained Sold Aliened and Confirmed and by these presents do Grant Bargain Sell Alien and Confirm unto the said John Alexander Jun'r. his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying in the County aforesaid, Situate on the West fork of Brush Creek being part of a 1000 Acre tract entered on a Military Warrant No. 2287, Deeded to David Harbison by Abraham Hite Assignee of Jacob Coleman bounded and described as follows (to wit) Begining at two White oaks North East corner to the original Survey and North West to Robert Breckenridge and running thence with the original line and Said Breckenridge South 14 degree West 199 poles to a Black Walnut, Gum and dogwood and Elm at a ??? ??? branch, thence with Francis Alexander North 66 degrees West 148 poles crossing a branch to a Hickory Gum and Red Oak in a line of John Alexander Sen'r. thence with said Line North 23 degrees East 199 poles to a stake and two Dogwoods in a line of the original, thence with the same South 66 degrees East 119 poles to the Begining, Containing 166 Acres be the same more or less. Together with all improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining To Have and To Hold the lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises unto the said John Alexander Jun'r. his heirs and assigns forever And they the said John Alexander Sen'r. and Jinnet his wife and their heirs executors and administrators do Covenant Promise and Agree to and with the said John Alexander Jun'r. his heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises before mentioned now are and forever hereafter shall remain free of and from all former gifts grants bargains Sales dower right and Title of Dower Judgments and Incumbrances whatsoever done or suffered to be done by them or either of them, And the said John Alexander Sen'r. and Jinnet his wife and their heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and sold with appurtenances unto the said John Alexander Jun'r. his heirs and assigns against them the said John Alexander Sen'r. and Jinnet his wife and their heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever do and will Warrant and forever Defend by these presents. In Witness Whereof they the said John Alexander Sen'r. and Jinnet his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Also at the same time came Janet his wife who being made acquainted with the contents of said conveyance and being by me examined separate and apart from her said husband declared that she signed sealed and as her act and deed delivered the same freely voluntarily and of her own accord without any coercion or compulsion of her said husband for the purpose therein mentioned.
