All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/oh/ohfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Linda Deppner http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00012.html#0002870 October 6, 2010, 9:06 pm Written: January 24, 1824 Recorded: April 19, 1824 Brown County, Ohio Deed Book D4, pages 63-64 Alexander To Alexander This Indenture made the twenty fourth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four, between John Alexander Sen'r and Jennet his wife of the County of Brown and State of Ohio of the one part and Andrew Alexander of the county and State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said John Alexander Sen'r and Jennet his wife for and in consideration of the sum of Four hundred and ninety eight dollars to them in hand paid the receipt of which they do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained Sold aliened and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain Sell alien and confirm unto the said Andrew Alexander his heirs and assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county aforesaid Situate on the west fork of Brush creek being part of a thousand acre Tract entered on a millitary warrant No. 2287 deeded to David Harbison by Abraham Hite assignee of Jacob Coleman and described as follows (to wit) Beginning at a hickory corner to Gabriel Alexander and running thence with his line South Sixty six and a fourth degrees East twenty eight poles to a stone thence South twenty two and three fourth degrees West nine poles to a stone thence South forty two and a half degrees East forty nine poles to a stone thence North fifty one and a half degrees East thirty nine poles to a stone on the north side of the Spring branch thence South Sixty six and a fourth degrees East sixty eight poles crossing a small branch to three hickories and a dogwood thence South twenty two and three fourth degrees West one hundred and Seventy three poles passing Francis Alexanders North west corner at nine poles and crossing a branch of the creek to two dogwoods in a line of the original Survey thence with Said line North Sixty Six and a fourth West one hundred and fifty eight poles crossing the branch to an Elm on the north East bank thence North twenty two and three fourth degrees East one hundred and Sixty nine poles to the Beginning, containing one hundred and Sixty two acres be the same more or less. Together with all improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining. To have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed with all and singular the premises unto the Said Andrew Alexander his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Alexander Sen'r and Jennet his wife and their Executors and administrators do covenant promise and agree to and with the said Andrew Alexander his heirs and assigns by these presents that the premises before mentioned now are and forever hereafter shall remain free of and from all former gifts grants bargains Sales dower right and title of dower Judgements and incumbrances whatsoever done or suffered to be done by them or either of them and the Said John Anderson [sic] Sen'r and Jannet his wife and their heirs all and singular the premises hereby bargained and Sold with the appurtenances unto the said Andrew Alexander his heirs and assigns against them the said John Alexander Sen'r and Jennet his wife and their heirs and all and every other person or persons whatsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof they the Said John Anderson [sic] Sen'r and Jannet his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. John Alexander (Seal) Jennet Alexander (Seal) Signed Sealed and delivered in the presence of Abraham Edginton Benjamin Gutridge The State of Ohio, Brown County SS This day John Alexander Sen'r personally came before me a Justice of Said County and acknowledged the Signing Sealing and delivering of the within deed to be his act and deed for the purposes therein mentioned, also at the same time came Jennet his wife who being made acquainted with the contents of Said conveyance and being by me examined Seperate and apart from her Said husband declared that she Signed Sealed and as her act and deed delivered the same freely voluntarily and of her own accord without any coercion compulsion of her said husband for the purposes herein mention.
