Joseph A. Carrington
Joseph A. Carrington, youngest son of Jesse B. and Caselda Jackson Carrington, bo
both deceased, was born in Lewis County, Kentucky on January 12, 1862, and de
departed this life at the home of his son Ben, in Georgetown on June 30, 1946, at
at the ripe old age of 84 years, 5 months, and 18 days. 
He was one of a family of four and was the last to go.  For the past 35 years h
he had lived in Brown County, being engaged in farming.  For the last three m
months, he had made his home with his son Ben, who, with his wife, did all they c
could to make his declining years happy and contented.
On September 5, 1887, he was united in marriage to Amanda Jane Dugan, who 
preceded him in death on June 16, 1937.  To this union 11 children were born, 
nine of whom survive:  Horace, Cleo, Mrs. Ada Clifton, Mrs. Lola White, 
Emerson, Ben and Earl all of Georgetown; Robert of Dayton, Ohio and Mrs. Emma 
Howser of Williamsburg.  Besides these he leaves 32 grandchildren, 14
great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews, with a wide circle of
acquaintances who will miss his genial presence.
