Departedthis life near Brownstown O July 12th1922, aged 63 years 7 months 17 days.Her health had been declining forsome time. About three weeks agoshe went to visit her sons John andRobert, being at the home of the lattermentioned at the time of her deathwhere all that loving hands could dowas done to alleviate her suffering.But we are born to die. God spoketo her and the weary spirit took its Page2)flight.She was united in marriage to Joseph DeHaas in July 1880Together they traveled lifes pathwaysharing each others toils and caresjoys and sorrows until God called herhome.She united with the Reformed Churchat Danville in her girlhood daysIn after years she with her companionunited with the Church of Christ whereher membership remained until her death.We shall never forget the sweet smile ofwelcome she extended to us all also thebeautiful example of honesty andIndustry so characteristic of her lifeNot only will she be missed by herHusband and children but by a host ofothers who knew and loved her.She leaves a Husband three sons Page 3)Robert, Thomas, and John, sixteengrandchildren and a host of friendsto mourn their loss.'Tis hard to break the slender cordOf love that binds the hearts;'Tis harder still to speak the word,Wife, we must forever part.Dearest Mother we have placed theein thy peaceful grave's embraceBut thy memory will be cherishedTill in Heaven we see thy face-----NOTE:She died at Brownstown, which is in Brown Co., OHFrom a copy of a hand written obituary.
