Thompson Journals Written: September 3, 1850 Estate of Wm Pierce File Box 69 On Sept 3, 1850 Emanuel Chance is apptd Admr. Bond in $1200, the widow Melinda Pierce renouncing her right to him. Inventory filed Dec 1, 1851, recorded Book 13 p 574. John McLean was one of the three appraisers & was clerk of the sale. An account filed Mch 15, 1854 enclosing a big bundle of 62 receipts shows receipt from Malinda Pierce, widow No 58 for $70 dated Jany 13, 1851 in which "in consideration of the tender age & necessitious condition of the children of my decd husband, Wm Pearse to wit, Cornelius, Mary, Amanda, & Emily Pearse, I direct the Admr to pay to them anything that would be coming to me". A final acct filed Feby 29, 1856 as of estate of Wm Pearse shows distribution to & receipts of $198.37 from the four children & heirs as follows: No 1. {William Swearingen {Mary C.
