John Vennemann, 28 Hurm street, fired the shot from a 22 caliber revolver, the police were told. Schuck testified in municipal court a neighbor close to the home of Vennemann when he heard him quarreling with his wife. The house Vennemann lives in is owned by Schuck and he went to it and told Vennemann he would have to move. Schuck testified in municipal court today that Vennemann then accused him of calling the police and reached for his revolver. “As he reached for his gun, I turned and started to run through the yard,” Schuck said. “While I was running Vennemann fired twice at me. One of the bullets missed me and the other struck the button.” “The trouble with my wife confused me and I didn't know what I was doing,” Vennemann stated when asked by Judge E.J. Kautz what he had to say. He also pleaded guilty to the charge of shooting at with intent to kill, filed against him by Schuck. The court then bound Vennemann over to the grand jury in the sum of $3000. Detectives Morton and Nugent, who arrested Vennemann after the shooting found the revolver at the house with two empty chambers.
