Keyes, Nov 16, 2004 From copies received from Butler Co., Ohio Archives [Butler Co., Ohio Will Record 2 Old, p. 230: March Term 1837] In the name of god Amen-- I Obadiah D Webb being weak of Body yet of sound and desposcing mind and memo ry and beleiving that my time is short in this world and to be better prepared to leave this world - do make and publish this my last will and testament -- First that my body shall be decently buried under the direction of my beloved wife -- Item first that I hereby give and bequeath unto my be loved wife Rachel all my real estate to her during her widowhood also all my personal estate both in money and chattel estate whatsoever-- Item second. My wife will pay all the just charges to wit such as ?hesians bills and funeral expenses out of the proceeds of my personal estate-- I do hereby make this my last will and testament having never made any other whatsoever-- I do hereby name as my executors my Beloved wife Rachel and my worthy friend John H Thomas this my last will and tes tament compossed of one half sheet of paper executed at the Township of Wayne in the County of Butler this twenty seventh day of November one thousand eight hundred and thirty six-- In testimony whereof I have called one John H. Wilson and Pearson Brelsford to witness this as my last will and testament-- John K. Wilson Obadiah D. Webb Pearson Brelsford The State of Ohio Butler County Be it known that at a Court of Common Pleas holden at Hamilton in the county of Butler in the state of Ohio on the twenty third day of March one thousand eight hun dred and thirty seven before the Honorable Benjamin Hinkson Esq President and Daniel Millikin, Squier Littell and Fergus Anderson Esquires associates Judges of our said court of common pleas the within written last will and testament of the within named Obadiah D. Webb who is now deceased being presented for Probate by the executors therein named And John K. Wilson and Pearson Brelsford the subscribing witnesses thereto appearing witheir proper persons and being duly sworn depose and say & each of them for himself deposeth & saith that in his and their presence Obadiah D. Webb the within named testator signed and acknowledged the within writing as and for his last will and testament and that at his request and in his presence they the said John K. Wilson and Pearson Brelsford subscribed their names as witnesses thereto and that at the time of the said signing & acknowledging the said Oba diah D. Webb the testator was of sound mind and memory under restraint and of full age-- Sworn & subscribed in open court John K. Be it remembered that on the ninth day of March in the term of February One thousand eight hundred and forty nine, On application the Guardianship of the persons and estates of Joseph Webb of the age of twenty years on the [blank] day of February last and Samuel Webb of the age of thirteen years on the [blank] day of August last children and heirs at law of Obed Webb late of the County of Butler deceased is granted unto William Miller until he the said Joseph Webb shall arrive at the age of twenty one years and until he the said Samuel Webb shall arrive at the age of fourteen years according to the form of the Statute in such case made and provided. And the said Guardian with Samuel P. Witherow his bail gave bond to the State of Ohio in the sum of Fifteen hundred dollars. Webb decd [Inventory & Appraisment - page 2] The State of Ohio Butler County, ?? on the 18th day of April 1837 Isaac Wolverton and John Baird appraiser of the Estate of the Estate Obadiah D Webb Late of the Township of Wayne in said County deseaced personally appearid before me John K Wilson a Justice of the peace in and for said county and were duly swone according to law well and truly to appraise all goods and chattels of the Estate of the said Obadiah D. Webb deceased_____ which shall be presented to them for appraisement given under my hand this 18th day of April 1837___ John K Wilson J.P. A true and correct inventory of the goods and chattels of the Estate of Obadiah D Webb Late of Butler County deceased presented to us the undersigned appraisers of said Estate by Rachel Webb and John H.
