He immigrated with his parents to Champaign County in 1827. He was married to Eliza Strickler on April 8, 1847, to them were born three sons and three daughters, all of who are living and whose names are Elizabeth J Miley, Mary A Mock, John W, Benjamin F, Peter H and Cora F White. Mr Ammon was in blacksmithing in Millerstown until 1865 when he purchased a farm and engaged in farming. After the death of his companion in 1899, he has spent much of his time with his children and grandchildren. He spent his last days with his grand daughter, Mrs Burns. He leaves six children, twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one sister Mary A Nincyhelser of Cable. The funeral was at the Baptist Church on Tuesday, services were conducted by Rev N Mathews. Interment was in Spring Grove Cemetery.
