Vera "Jean" Atchison, 78, of Urbana, went to be with the Lord, Friday, January 
13, 2012 in her home with her family by her side.

She was born September 7, 1933 in Hardin County Ohio, the daughter of Howard 
and Erma (Richards) Evans.

Jean retired from Grimes Manufacturing. She faithfully attended Mechanicsburg 
Church of God of Prophecy; Jean loved her church and her church family. She 
enjoyed music, particularly listening to country gospel. She cherished hearing 
her children sing and perform; going to the local nursing homes was just one 
of the special places she enjoyed watching them perform. Above all else, she 
treasured her time spent with family and friends and they will miss her 
deeply. 

Her survivors include, her daughters, Connie (Tony) Justice of Urbana, Judy 
(Mark) Lewis of Urbana and Kathy Berona of Marysville, her sons, Robert (Esta) 
Atchison, William (Helen) Atchison and Danny (Lisa) Atchison all of Urbana; 
several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; 
several nieces & nephews and a host of special friends, including her 
childhood friend of 70 years, Jean Rogan.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vaughn "Robert" 
Atchison, two grandchildren Christopher Atchison, and Jennifer Atchison; 
brothers & sisters, Wilbur and John Evans, Clara Fleece, Ruth Reed, Doris Fry 
and Joan Walker.

Jean's family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the wonderful 
support shown to them by the staff of Community Mercy Hospice. A gathering of 
family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in 
the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on 
Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in the funeral home with Rev. Richard Aites 
officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery, Urbana. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mechanicsburg Church of God of 
Prophecy, 130 Park Ave., Mechanicsburg, OH 43044. Condolences may be expressed
