Preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mary Schultz, brother Clayton, and her cherished husband of almost 60 years, H. Spencer Ball who died in 2000. Clara Delma was born on November 7, 1917, in Urbana, OH, graduated from Urbana Local High school in 1935 and received teaching credentials from Wittenberg College. She taught for the Urbana Schools early in her career, had a private kindergarten for 14 years in her home, and retired from education after 12 years with the Crestview Local Schools north of Mansfield. Mr. and Mrs. Ball were longtime, active members of the Grace Episcopal Church in Mansfield where she had much enjoyment in their choirs and playing the church organ. In addition, Clara Delma and Spencer were participants and supporters of area musicians, choruses and symphony, especially in Ashland. Art, travel, her pets, OSU athletics and the accomplishments of her family were among her many interests and pleasures. Survived by sons Richard (Kathy) of Westerville and Douglas (Connie Stine) of Renton, Washington; grandchildren Shannan McFadden of Chicago and Travis R. Ball of Charlotte, NC; great-granddaughter Megan McFadden and foster son Roger Grueser (Patty) of Athens, Ohio. A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church, 41 Bowman St., Mansfield, on Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 1:00 pm to celebrate her life with Rev. Joe Asby and Rev. David Sipes officiating.
