BALLENTINE, 74, of 4033 Vance Road, Urbana, who died at 1:25 a.m. Sunday in Mercy Memorial Hospital, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Neff-Walter Funeral Home. The Rev. William Turner, pastor of the Terre Haute United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Terre Haute Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. A veteran of World War I and a retired employee of the Mast-Foos Manufacturing Co., Inc. of Springfield, he was born March 5, 1895 in Champaign County, the son of Cyrus and Anna SHAFFER BALLENTINE. He was a member of the Terre Haute United Methodist Church, the Junior Order of United American Mechanics of Terre Haute and Disabled American Veterans of Urbana. Survivors are four brothers, Guston and Clark, both of Springfield and Paul and Calvin, both of Jamestown, two sisters, Mrs. Viola DUNCAN of North Hampton and Mrs. Waldo (Frieda) STEVENS of Urbana route four; a half-brother, Franklin of Springfield; and a half-sister, Mrs. Mary Jane MCNIER of Springfield. His wife, Emily, died Jan. 16, 1969.
