John Jacob Barger, 76, of 5565 Millerstown-Eris Road, Urbana, Ohio, died at 
6:09 p.m. Friday, July 6, 2001, in Mercy Memorial Hospital, Urbana. He was 
born on July 12, 1924, in Champaign County, Ohio, to Charles T. Barger and 
Clara (Bodey) Barger, both deceased. A 1924 graduate of Concord High School, 
he was self-employed as a farmer and also retired in 1978 as a bus driver with 
the Graham Board of Education. He was a member of the Concord United Methodist 
Church. He was named Director Emeritus of the Board of Directors of the 
Pioneer Rural Electric Co-op after 30 years of service. He also enjoyed 
traveling and had visited every continent. He is survived by his wife, Eva 
(Blue) Barger, of Urbana, who he married on July 28, 1946; one son and 
daughter-in-law, Daniel and Cheryl Barger, of Urbana; one daughter, Barbara J. 
Barger, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; seven granddaughters, 13 great-
grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. A 
memorial funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001, 
in Concord United Methodist Church, 2963 N. State Route 560, Urbana, with Rev. 
Erick Moon, church pastor, officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 5 
and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2001, i
