The Urbana Daily Citizen
Alma Vondale Barger, 96, of Urbana, died at 11:40 A.M. Wednesday, September 
23, 2009 in Heartland of Urbana. She was born December 13, 1912 in Auglaize 
County, OH a daughter of Harvey and Cora (Buffenbarger) Cummings and foster 
daughter of William and Jenny Grandstaff.

Alma was a member of First Christian Church of Urbana, formerly worked for 
Main Street Clothing and the Young World Dashery.

Survivors include a daughter, Vivian Ann Fox of Urbana, three grandchildren, 
Jenny (Chuck) Lang of Anchorage, AK, Myra (Jeff) Beaty of Dayton, OH, and 
Bradley K. (Jalene) Fox of Mt. Vernon, OH, two great grandchildren, Ryan C. 
Stokes of Columbus, OH and Jackson Philip Fox of Mt. Vernon, OH, sister, Edora 
Sattel of West Milton, OH, several nieces, nephews and a special niece and her 
husband Sue and Glenn Marsh of Dayton and nephew Norman and Connie Burba of 
Vincent, OH..

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Barger in 1975, her 
parents, foster parents, sisters, Gail Burba and Evadna Burklo and brothers 
Harry and Carl Cummings.

The family will receive friends, Tuesday, September 29, 2009 from 1-2 P.M. in 
the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main St. Urbana where funeral services 
will be held at 2 P.M. with Rev. Michael Stewart officiating. Burial will 
follow in Concord Cemetery, Urbana
