St. Paris--Mrs. John (Vera) Barger, 62, of St. Paris route two, died in Spr
Springfield City Hospital at 6:30 p.m. Friday.  She had been ill six months and hos
hospitalized four days.
Mrs. Barger was born in St. Paris, June 14, 1901, the daughter of Alfred and Je
Jeannette Briggs Niece.  She was married to John Barger on Jan. 31, 1921, in Ur
Urbana.  Her husband preceded her in death in July, 1962.
She was a member of the St. Paris Zion Lutheran Church, its missionary society a
and the Pythian Sisters.
Survivors include one son, Elton Barger of St. Paris route two; two 
grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four brothers, Harry Niece, of Elk G
Grove, CA, Rubin and Wendell, both of St. Paris and Hobart of Lakeview, OH.
Services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Baker Funeral Home, with burial 
to follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.  The Rv. Luther Buckholtz, pastor of the 
Zion Lutheran Church, will officiate.
